Fablon

I'm considering using some Fablon-type sticky backed plastic sheet on the transom of a MAB ( Manky Auld.... ) and wonder if readers have experience of this role....

How well did it last before beginning to peel away? Did any 'preventive maintenance' - e.g. spray lacquer, PVA adhesive - help?

Self adhesive vinyl lettering lasts for many years and I suspect Fablon is the same material.

Many many years ago I had a canoe... The canvas had been painted and was cracking on the deck area.

I covered it in Fablon and it lasted several years

Use vinyl sheets as used for lettering, easier to apply and smooth out, fablon glue is a bit aggressive. If put on properly should see you and the boat out.

I remember seeing something like that at the Boat Show. How well does it stretch round double curves? I could have a different coloured boat each year.
