Severe F11 forecast in 0905 gale warning. Gusts of 60kts earlier. 50kts at St Catherine's at 11:00.

Mod Plod searching for sailor reported in difficulties in his tender up the Hardway.

Didn't trouble us at all. Rocking around a bit. Dogs thought we had gone to sea as they took up their sea positions :D

I'm at the hard way, I just saw the Coastguard helicopter go over very slowly, must have been looking for the bloke in the tender, haven't seen anyone rowing past and in these conditions its nit the most sensibly sized boat to be out in

I can quite believe the f11 upgrade, I don't think I have experienced winds so force full since I started living aboard

We've had some tremendous gusts in Brighton. The poor neighbour's roof tiles are raining down!!

Ooh, can you go and check my house in Brighton whilst your'e there...?! :)

It's a steady sunny F4 here in the Cape Verdes- but we are just about to set off across the Atlantic within the next hour. I'll think of you all :)

Glad they found him, i guess he was just going out to check his boat on a swinging mooring

I've just finished putting the canvas back cover back on, on my boat after the wind ripped it off this afternoon, it ripped the whole batton including 15 stainless steel screws out of the roof too !, just been putting bigger stonger screws in and got the canopy back on again, its not a nice day out here today !
