We're all set for our trip from Cardiff toWeston S Mare on Wednesday.

Cardiff Yacht Club have kindly offered us a launch point and somewhere to pitch up on Tuesday evening, many thanks to them. I've been in touch with the Barrage and have all the info for that, tides are about right for not too early a start.

So if you see two Hobie Tiger F18 Catamarans and a couple of Ribs it'll be us.

All we need now is a good Force 3/4 Westerly we'll be back in Cardiff for lunch.

good Luck

What time do you plan on locking out, If I can I will try and take some pics of you at the start.

Good luck with the trip, I would have come over to lend moral support if it had been at the weekend. I've done some long distance races (East coast piers etc) in Hurricane 5.9s

Sounds like fun.

WhiteMischief, Thanks. We've done ECPR before when we had a Hurricane 5.9, I love doing long Distance Races so this trip should be fun.
I'll post some pickies when we get back....unless we get stuck in Weston of course in which case we'll be at the all you can eat chinese buffet.

Job done

Yesterday we completed out leg of the baton relay, taking it across the Bristol Channel from Cardiff to Weston Super Mare (which seems to be shut for repairs) Wind was light but we got over in about 2 hours.

Many thanks to Cardiff Yacht Club for their stunning hospitality, launch site and bar. Thanks to Cardiff Barrage (apologies for the stuck down Tx button on my radio). & thanks to all here for their tips & advice.

Think I saw you.

I locked out at 0900 and sailed over expecting you to overtake me at some point.I was just entering the river Axe at the western end of Weston Bay as you were coming into the Bay at the other end.Too far away for me to take any pics unfortunately.

Well done, wasnt the best of days for it.I couldnt see from cardiff to flatholm at 0900 but it got better as the day went on.

We were hoping for quite abit more wind. We did manage to fly the spinnaker towards the end of the leg to Weston and even lifted a hull briefly but return trip was with some help from the ribs.
