I have a Whale cockpit shower, all good except it does not reach to the bathing platform which is of course where you want sand covered kids to shower off before getting in the cockpit! (fellow OCD people feel free to back me up).

Excuse my ignorance but is there a standard thread size to all shower hoses, have seen one of these on feebay and thinking of getting for the fact it comes with a 4m hose; http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Boat-show...091?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_3&hash=item3aa662968b

anyone know anywhere else I can obtain just a long shower hose without the other bits to save some money, will need to be 4m...

thanks

The thread is most likely standard. Just bear in mind that as the hose gets longer it can also find it way round all sorts of things in the engine room that tend to snag it ( personal experience).

Depending on where your hose vanishes to, if you get a longer one you might want to consider a net or similar to contain it.

I bought one for my Sealine. Think it was 4 metres. Trouble is I can't remember where I got it. Leave it with me and I'll updare as soon as I find out, unless someone else gets the info fir you in the meantime.

Right, that was quicker than I thought. It was AquaMarine, who is now Bainbridge. I have had a look on their website and they sort of have what I bought, only I didn't have to buy the casing as well. The part number is P471099. Stick that into their search here: www.bainbridgemarine.com

P472506 seems to be the 4M hose on its own, although there is no picture and the description is wrong.

Thanks for looking Neale, although at £53 quite a bit more than what I found on ebay. I will give them a call and see if they just do the hose on its own.

Just a thought, would it not be a better job to reposition the complete mixer so you have control when using it,

Not really, as it would leave a big whole in the cockpit and having had a shower on the transom on my previous boat they are quite prone to freezing in winter as rather exposed, also would give me quite a large task when a longer hose would be the easy fix.

what I have in the cockpit;
