No it's not a one-eyed dog! I now have a new CCTV camera which I will mount on the coachroof on the straboard side, which I can't see from the helm position. This will help when coming alongside, as at present I can't see the pontoon while steering.
The company I dealt with in N. Ireland were brilliant and got it to me staright away and at a very good price. It's all in colour and can see in the dark! (infra -red) and also submersible. The next idea is to mount it under the bow so I can see my way into anchorages /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif
I got the idea after seeing reversing cameras on the fuel tankers, and it all works on 12v. All for under £200.00. Will let you know how it goes after I get the boat unwrapped. Hey Dom - dare I look inside the fuel tank?

Hermees has still got her covers on at this time, but I have the camera set up at home, it's quite amazing looking at the monitor, can't wait to try it on the boat.

Some of the cameras are really small with wide angle lens, would be ideal for engine room.
