Extinguisher Lost pressure

Hi folks

I have a 1Kg dry powder fire extinguisher which has lost its charge (needle has moved out of green zone). Its three years old. Is it possible to get it re-charged or is replacement the best option.

Cheers

Re: Extinguisher Lost pressure

possibly - depends on the make. dont forget that youare supposed to shake these every so often to try to prevent the powder clumping

Some have a car tyre valve which you can charge from an airline. If not you could get it serviced but it would probably be as cheap to buy a new one.

Re: Extinguisher Lost pressure

Wouldn't chance it. Probably lost pressure through an unseen pinhole
or valve seal failure , neither cost effective to repair. The contents
might also be a bit crusty after 3 years in marine environment.
There should be a "use by" date printed on it somewhere. Buy another one.
