has anyone found a more efficient slide than the bronze claw type that fit around external sail track? Due to friction, and despite lubricating the track with teflon spray my main is very difficult to lower and raise.Any thoughts would be appreciated
many thanks in advance
tom

You may need to "de-burr" the bronze claws, they sometimes get sharp edges, which cause frictio0n, as well as the track itself. Make sure all edges are rounded off, as the slides sometimes rock and jam.

How are the slides attached to the sail? If it is a tight binding they might be tilting and jamming on the track. Try fitting a loose binding so the sail is pulling more vertically. Experiment with a slide before doing all the slides - perhaps fitting shackles will help.
