Trying to locate an inset pannel to fit on bulkhead in which to fit ignition switch, guages etc.
The type I am after is white and would fit into a cutout on the bulkhead, it would have a rim or lip around its outer edge with which to fix it.
Does anyone know what they are called and who supplies them? need it aprox 250x300mm.
Thanks, C_W

High Clyde you might just find a stainless steelo pie dish of similar dimensions.

or failing that make one out of polyester resin and fibreglass. You use a block of wood to make the depth etc, lay it on a piece of flat glass or plastic. Put a fillet of filler (plaster) in the corners to make a smooth transition to the lip. and sand all sharp edeges to a suitable radius. The fibreglass doesn't like following sharp corners. You might be able to find a twill weave which is a bit easier to lay in corners.

Coat the mold with wax then do your gel coat glass and resin. A nice little job to do at home. You will probably have to trim the lip after it has hardened. good luck olewill

Thanks William.
the grp sounds a better option, hard to drill s/s for a 2" dia guage and cut out for clipper duet etc.
Thought the forumites were a knowledgeable bunch, but was dissapointed at the response.
Thanks again William, Eamonn.

Think that Olewill was suggesting that you use the pie-dish as a mould from which you could fabricate a panel in grp. Dirt cheap if you can get it in enamel...

Seems a very good idea to me.
