Extending battery life

Hi,
Is there a gadget which would bypass the batteries when on shorepower.?
Some kind of 240v to 12v transformer with the intelligence to detect 240volts is connected.

Yes it's a marine mains battery charger, should charge up your batteries when shore plugged in, then drop down to float to provide a power supply.

Though years ago Marine Projects used a seperate power supply made in Spain/Italy to power fridge / deep freeze from shore.

If you have fancy batteries, like gel, make sure you get a battery charger that will charge them
