I need to extend my Lowrance LGC 2000 GPS cable
For various reasons the simple solution of buying a ready made up cable with the connecting plugs in place will not work: I need to cut the cable and splice in an extra length, about 2 metres.
The plugs are 5 pin and I'm told the cable is "shielded" (not sure what that means)
What is the appropriate cable for this job, where might I get it, and is there anything special about this job that I should be aware of?
