conch Pearl and I were hoping to get further west this week but due to bad weather over the weekend only managed to get as far as Porlock.Some excellent sailing and missed most of the rain squalls.....

Hmm, those pics must have been doctored, the tide's never been in when I've been to Porlock!!

Too true - we'd been visiting for about 10 yrs (not by boat) before HWMBO was convinced that the tide _ever_came in !

I have heard a story that in days gone by in poor vis the colour of the water was used for navigation in the Bristol Channel. Green/blue off porlock ,Dirty greeny brown off Barry,Mud Soup past Flatholm.Boat slowing down and very brown water Your Aground. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif
