Exhuast pipe size

Following on from a previous thread I will replace the exhaust pipe on my Yanmar 3GM30F. The boat is in Greece and typically I did not measure the pipe diameter....can somebody advise of the correct size of pipe I'll need ? I'm assuming it's a standard size. Thanks

Suggest you check the manuals on-line, but all the models I know of have a 2"/50mm exhaust. Just being careful in case your particular variant is different, I'd check them myself but my pdf reader is playing up.

It may be dependent upon the history of the installation and/or the trap that has been fitted. My boat had a Bukh 20 with 40 mm exhaust hose throughout. When the Bukh was replaced by a Yanmar 3GM30F the exhaust hose to the trap became 50 mm but the remainder stayed as 40 mm.

I bought a replacement for the 40 mm in Greece this year, at reasonable cost, probably little more than it would have been in UK. So the best option for you might well be to buy when you get there.

Thanks for that. I was planning to purchase in Greece, but to pre-order - hence the size check. I don't think the size'll be different from the trap, but thanks for the heads up.
