I have an HFL 4.5 KVA generator in my Oceanlord. There is no room under the generator to fit a water trap, so the installers put several coils of 30mm exhaust underneath to give a reservoir for exhaust water. The exhaust is routed to the stb side of the boat and then out to the stern exiting under the sugar scoop vertically, with a good rise above to stop sea water reverse flooding.
WHilst the engine is relatively quiet inside, I would not like to be moored near my boat when the genset is running, as there is Bugger all silencing.
I though that I could fit a 30mm waterlock from vetus at the stern of the boat, before the exit, but Vetus say that would create too much back pressure. A muffler would be an alternative to this, but Vetis don't make one that small.
Does any one have any ideas as to the best way to silence this. I want to do my bit for noise polution!
