Exhaust pollution embarrassment

I thought I had stopped all oil leaks from my boat and that embarrassing oil slick around my hull .

However I note that on starting after the first cough of the day there is a dirty splurge of water and an indication of oil from the exhaust . While there is then no more there is still that tell tale slick floating around the hull and a disdaining glare from the occupant of the next boat . Even a little goes a long way and shows you up .

Perhaps I should have a detergent injection point in the waterlock / silencer ? or pipe the silencer drain away to a holding tank ? /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif

Dont think its oil more likely diesel.My previous Volvo engined boat was very dirty on tick over,once over 1500rpm no probs.Quite embarrasing in locks, was like it from new. 2 X MD31,s, 2 friends had same engines both the same.

Overfuelling device, diesel equivalent of the choke. Not much you can do about it.
