Oh the irony
There we were pottering back down stream from Kingsbridge when heading towards us came a wall of pocket rocket dinghys racing. I held my nerve in the little tender and managed to avoid death carnage or worse. How the dinghies approaching the mark managed to avoid the dinghies that had already rounded it remains a mystery. They must have rules more complex than simply turn to starboard.
Anyway pottering along with our new found pocket rocket friends and enjoying ringside action seats all seemed to be going swimmingly until a pack of Yawls appeared from between the moored boats. These tri sailed dinghies are a strange beast, the extra sail being fitted to the stern by way of a separate mast. They also create a hell of a wake I now know !
As the pack passed we were left fighting for our lives, well certainly fighting to avoid the spray as we got slammed about.
I very nearly shouted for them to slow down and watch their wake
Do you think I should post a complaint on the Scuttlebutt forum
Sunshine slightly on the bright side now. Hopefully it won't spoil my sausage sandwich luncheon !
