Hi All,
Just had my steering rebuilt by the Robin at Sims marine, made up new splined torque tube in the pedestal new splined shaft in the 45 degree gearbox fitted new bearings etc etc.
Also did me a longer rudder tube and shaft for the hydrovane.
What a top geezer this chap is. He will attempt the impossible and usually sort it for you.
If you have any broken/worn out bits most definetly worth a visit. He has a little machine shop in swanick. web site address is http://www.simsmarine.co.uk/, not much on it though.

No relation except a very very satisfied customer. Just thought he may be useful to someone.
Regards
Roy

Thanks for the recommendation - always good.

However, Mr Sims' website doesn't mention where he is located except "Hampshire". Can you say where his yard is please? (Maybe also he needs to take another look at his website and include his address?).
Thanks.

Yep:

I agree.
Robin Sims provided some Edson bits for me and did some machining, very good work standard and very sensible on price. A decent chap to deal with as well.

The down side is he only uses a mobile phone but having dealt with him I can say ... First class.

He has a workshop at:
Bury Farm Industrial Estate at Curbridge, Southampton.

Highly recommended.

.....Peter
