Evinrude VRO 115 Outboard

Can anyone help?

I am currently looking for a 15/16 ft fletcher. One has popped up with a Evinrude VRO 115 outboard, I have been advised to get a Yamaha or Mercury.

Can anybody please give any advise on this outboard in terms of performance, reliability and spare parts as i have very little knowledge!

Hi Brufton, welcome to the forum. Just as a point of protocol (and no criticism) if you complete your profile, you are more likely to receive answers to your questions.

In my opinion, the 115 VRO is a fair (but not good) engine. The difference will be made by whether or not it has a good service history. Check this out and come back with your findings.

Again, my opinion leads me to tell you that Yam, or Suzi or later Mercury is the way to go.

Try looking on the RIB forum www.rib.net

They have a forum on engines and as it's RIB's it's mostly about outboards.
