Having spent ages fiddling with one of these that wouldn't run correctly I finally discovered it was the nut and packing around the idle jet screw. I couldn't find much on this searching the net and post this for the forum knowledge.
Symptoms are easy start but then stalling out after a few seconds and sometimes a minute or so. Won't rev well. Will sometime run for a couple of minutes before bogging down.
Lots of advice saying it would be dirty carb, float, fuel supply problems etc. It may be but before getting to far into stripping it down I would suggest checking the packing around the slow running jet and ensuring the nut compressing the packing is pretty tight down. The manual says only tighten the packing nut until you can still turn the jet by hand-this may be right but in my experience this means tightening it until it is only just possible to move the jet by hand-that is pretty tight down. After hours of messing about stripping carbs etc replacing the packing (for me two leather washers and then a plastic washer and then the packing nut) sorted it out and it now runs really well.
Hope this helps someone in the future-these faults can be very frustrating.
