Just to set the record straight he was not rowing out of Pompey Harbour. This incident
took place off the Hardway. He was found hanging onto a buoy at the stern of one of the
warships up the trot. We heard the call go out to ModPlods for assistance and watched them proceed up harbour at a great rate of knots. Been informed since that it was a yachtie trying to get out to his mooring to check his boat. Still stupid though.

I don't think the BBC hack was too interested in getting the details right. I'm fairly confident the RNLI bod wouldn't have told him the winds were "62 knots an hour".
