Ever get the feeling you\'ve drawn the short straw?

It's my wedding anniversary today. Mrs PeteM phoned me at work to ask if I could pick up a bottle of wine on my way home. Forever the optimist I asked if she'd cooked me a nice meal. Know what she replied......

"No, but I've bought you a nice packet of crisps".

Great!

As happened to me in a restaraunt recently
Chap came up and said 'Rose for the lady sir?'
'Done' I said.

Totally unfair...

Marriage is a great institution as institutions go . It's just that the fair sex are different to us normal human beings (???).

Can you really think why they wouldn't appreciate us?...Nay , nay , I here.

A boat, a boat, my kingdom for a boat..

As instutions go????
The fairer sex????

I am fortunate not to have married my deck hand. I have only just persuaded her to allow me a new dinghy DINGHY I SAY
on the basis that:
I donot go to the pub at all, ever again and do everything she wants for the next year which includes marrying her and getting her pregnant ( order not specified)

for a blummin dinghy!!!!!. I have decided to get a speedboat and not tell her.

Never trust something that bleeds constantly for four days every month and doesn't die

...It was like that when i found it!

I long ago, although maybe too late, realised that the fairer sex are really different beings. For example, they may give you a list of problems but if you offer to solve those problems they are not happy. You see they need you to 'understand' not solve. If you try acting sympathetic ... and join in with the 'understanding' that it ... thats what they want!

I wish I could apply this to say engine problems on a boat. If all I had to do was to understand the problem and wham - its cured, my bank account would be a lot fatter.

Peter,
I like your attention to detail and line of questioning. Unfortunately my wife's idea of I might consider to be a nice crisp is has been tainted by her own taste.

I.e. I like Sea Salt and Balsamic Vinegar flavour Kettle Chips. She doesn't. Therefore I got Chicken flavour Walkers Sensations.

Re: Perhaps

Just persuaded my wife to have a new car instead of her Fiat Punto. so the criteria were ......
a) willl it tow the boat
b) will it pass criteria (a)
c) errrr um ... as long as its not Green ..... and I dont like purple !!!!

So what did I buy ??? Yup a Toyota Land Cruiser, spot on me thinks, black .....
Fetched it this moring and I have already towed Kelisha off the drive out on the the road, put the caravan back in behind Kelisha and replaced Kelisha back onto the drive. Cracking vehicle, I'm really impressed.

The n found SWMBO giving it an extra polish !!!! it's just had a valet ........ think I'll get her to give the inside a further bit of elbow grease ........ glad she loves me !!!!

Re: Perhaps

So when you gonna bring the boat down to farmer Barnes's then. You can join the scrum on the slip at LWS. It'll be lovely now everyones gone home after the hols. Come the end of september the speed limit is lifted as well!!

OK, to hell with it. Unbolt it and we'll use it as an anchor!
