My father converted his Thames lugged rig 15 foot dinghy to a bermudian sloop when we moved to Littlehampton in 1964 and he bought a brand new Evenrude motor .It was small and had a round shape .It certainly pushed the boat along what happened to it I don’t recall

We had one from around that time, called an Evinrude Lightwin. Smallest in their range at 3hp. There was also a Yachtwin I think, maybe a long shaft version?

It had a horizontal throttle lever and no gears

Have you checked down the back of your sofa? Where was the last place you looked?
