I need to take a motor yacht at some point over the winter from the Med to baltic.

She is displacement, 61' and has an air draft of about 6.3m. The boat is currently in Sardinia.

I cant find a great deal of info on the web, is there a sensible route with this height? Has any one done it? If its not going to work maybe I should look at getting her through to the Channel and then take her by sea from there.

Any routing/navigation advice from someone who has done this or found a sensible alternative greatly appreciated.

You will have to go by sea via Gib and up north and then you could enter Newport in Beligum and go through canals via brugge holland and Germany.

I did it with a 5,5 meter high motor boat, the cost is very low and the facilities are good , got free water and electricity in many places but good to have a genrtaor also, You will not be able to enter Brugge marine due to height but plenty of spaces on the canals.

Lovely trip ahaed

Canal du Midi is even more restrictive with draught of 1.4m and air draft of around 3m.

No alternative to going round the outside - or shipping by sea to a Channel port. Weekly service from Greece to Southampton and also possible from Med coast of France and Spain.

If you go on the Rhine and are over 15m waterline you will need to take one of their "skippers" on board to safely navigate for you! Not sure of the cost per day but it needs to be factored into your trip.
This is why the most popular boating size for German clients is UP TO 14.99m
