Anyone heard of a boat getting stuck under the bridge at the weekend, either late Saturday or Sunday. Apparently they had to drop the water level quite a bit to get them out. Sketchy info from a guy at Windsor but that's all I know.

If Im not mistaken Eton Dorney was the venue for Rowing, Paralympic Rowing and Canoe Sprint events during the London 2012 Games.

Yes, it was / is.

Not sure what that has to do with stuck boats though?

I have heard a similar rumour, but rumour only and no specific details. Wouldn't be the first one to hit it though...

I cannot answer the question about stuck boats but can add that the lock keeper checked that we were aware of it yesterday (even though we are based on the stretch) and that it had a sign with 4.1m on it! All this points to a stuck boat??!

Why on earth couldn't they have made it a little higher. Eton Bridge is tight for some so when you have the option in building a temporary structure why not give it an extra foot or so. Punters traversing the Bridge would hardly notice the extra couple of steps either end surely.
