Hi,

Does anyone know what RCD rating the shoal fin version of the Etap 28i is?

Also, does anyone have any experience of sailing one of these single handed and, if so, any recommendations for enhancements that should be made.

Thanks.

Hi Tubbsy.

I owned an Etap 28i for 4 years, prior to that (first boat) I had an Etap 22 and now own an Etap35i, so am a fairly committed Etap owner!

You will not find an RCD figure for the 28i as production ceased before the introduction of RCD ratings.

With all the lines led to the cockpit the boat sails easily single handed, as I regularly did. A tiller pilot is a useful aid but most sheet/halyard work even reefing can be done with the tiller close at hand, although to be fair reefing WILL need the assistance of a tiller pilot or to hove to.

If you would like a copy of the original boat test then send me a PM with your address and I will pop a copy in the post. You may want to tell me (by PM) the name of the boat you are interested in, I may know it!
