Estimate the cost of a dive team

When my boat semi-submerged at its berth, the marina arranged for a dive team to attend the boat to attach flotation bags to the boat so that it could be safely towed to their lift. Great service you might think. I have recently been sent the invoice to pay (the marina has already paid the diver's invoice directly). How much do you think the invoice was for?

The diver's invoice x 3, plus a charge for the flotation bags rental, plus £300.00 for the tow to the lift, plus £150 (x 2 if at weekend) for lift.

The lift out plus the lift onto a lorry to take the boat to be repaired was on a separate invoice from the marina which I have already paid. The marina hasn't made any additional charge to the diver's invoice, but for all I know they may have a separate arrangement in place for this aka 'finder's fee'.

I have just learnt that an HSE dive team is 5 men!

What in the wide, wide world of sports is a HSE dive team? The number of personnel required is whatever the risk assessment says it ought to be; in this case I would say a minimum of 2 divers and one top man. 5 is kicking the arse out of it frankly.

I'd go for about £1500 but I expect you'll say it's much more than that.

Well I guessed the max amount, but I'm surprised it wasn't more, given it has HSE in the title.

And how much of the fantasy fee will the insurance company wear?

Unless it was very sudden I'd expect the marina to have called saying "your boat looks low in the water, shall we take a look?"

At the moment the answer is none so I am having to pick up the tab.

How long did the job take?

The invoice provides no details, it just says 5 people on 2 days. I will call their office if I can on Monday and request a break down of the £3k into hours worked etc.
