Essential Yachting Equipment.

Now that's wealth- pay someone to hoist your sails then buy an exercise bike to make up for it! Sounds like the Americans who drive to the gym!

Same as me!! But mine is a clinker type!! Why would anybody carry a rowing machine, plain daft!!! Obviously got too much deck/stowage space!!

Most Useless Yachting Equipment I\'ve seen was...

Once sailed for a fortnight round the Western Isles, in foul weather, with a friend who had a very large pack taking up a ridiculous amount of locker space on the Contessa 32 we had chartered.
Towards the end of the cruise, it was evident that whatever was in the pack was not going to see the light of day, so I had to find out what the hell it was. He put up some resistance, but we got to it in the end.
It was a parachute.
Maybe he thought we would have a helicopter on the poop?

Filipinos - essential yachting equipment

Highly recommended; clean, tidy, quiet, seamanlike, eat anything (almost) and don't take up much space below.

I've sailed with one for years, but I will never do so again, as my wife gets her British citizenship tomorrow!

Re: Filipinos - essential yachting equipment

I had a guy who bought an inflatable paddling pool in Spain for the journey home. He gave us the pretext that it was a present for his niece..ha ha he did not like the look of my scruffy life raft.

sea anchor perhaps?

Hm. It would be interesting trying to figure out how to secure it to the boat, with all those straps and buckles!

Congratulations

I think thats the first time I have ever heard a man apply the adjective "quiet" to his wife.

Sir, you are to be envied

Re: Filipinos - essential yachting equipment

"Her voice was ever soft and low - an excellent thing in woman" (King Lear, Act V).

One of the main attractions, all those years ago, now I come to think of it.

Of course, this may all change from tomorrow!

Re: Filipinos - essential yachting equipment

She gets the paperwork handed to her by the Chairman of the County Council, who is now a Tory - she is allowed two guests and the other one, besides me, is the Treasurer of the constituency Lib Dems!
