I'm interested to know: would you get rid of your Dorade vent? We did. In the video I explain why but it was quite stomach-churning to see a great big hole in the deck.

Oh dear

And here's the culprit!

Letting in too much light. Lots more epoxying to do

We received delivery of our veneer, which is called 'White Vine'. The lads have started putting it up already, and it looks rather smart.

Veneering has begun

And some of the holes we're looking to keep are being plugged.

Put a plug in it

Finally, for a bit of light hearted relief, we've put together a little montage type thing in honour of our fantastic carpenters. Whilst Liz was doing the payroll last week it suddenly occurred to her that the names of the father and two sons, Pong, Ton and Tui, sounded rather familiar...

We have dorades that are just behind our forward collision bulkhead. They leak dreadfully if we take water on the deck so they've been capped for several years with no ill effects. We may well remove them when we do our next big lift in 2016.
