What is the better type design fixed to wall or central island?

Fixed to the wall means it can be very rigid and you can have tool racks above it and power sockets. A central one has the advantage of being able to handle large workpieces but it has to be very rigidly made, also it will take up more room that you might wish to use for a vintage Bentley or a boatbuilding project!
