An elderly friend of mine is considering embarking on a major voyage, perhaps the last of his twilight years. He wishes to add a ray of sunshine to the autumn of his life by embarking on an audacious voyage so that he can relate the tale to his grandchildren as he dangles the mite on his hairy little knee whilst the tiny tot is bemused the reflections dancing across his bonce and hypnotised by tufts of nasal foliage. How should our little hobbit equip his craft for the voyage from Kimmelford to Croabh . will a water maker be a necessity or should an ice maker suffice?

Real rufftie tufftie sailors take their scotch with salt water, /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif and thus need neither.

Given the fecund nature of the Irish Sea, has he considered a smoker to deal with the many tons of mackeral, or even salmon, he may catch, thus providing his trusty crew with provender.

Given the oft nippy nature of the region, perhaps a patio heater is appropriate?

It is very important to consider the question of emergency food supplies. I recall that a former forumite had a tomato plant on the stern patio. Given the propensity of global worming, a small greenhouse could earn its place on your wanderer's yacht.

I beleive our hero's craft aleady possesses a conservatory. I am concerned about global worming .. is this a new form of green travel utilising holes in the 12th dimension?

If your friend is suffering from Blue Water, I am sure dialysis will help. I therefore propose that the interior of the craft is decorated in the style of a medical facility, and an appropriately proportioned 'nurse' employed to minister the needs.
Oh, and a Stannah Companionway lift.
