I'm cleaning up the ePropulsion Spirit and greasing the parts specified in the manual. Taken the prop off to inspect and clean the anode but just wondered why I shouldn't put a light coating of grease on the shaft before reassembling. The prop is held on with an M10 nyloc (which I'll replace next time I disassemble).

Any thoughts to grease or not to grease?

For anyone else doing this job, you ideally need a deep 17mm to get the prop nut off. The standard size one just about worked if I shared the socket between the nut and the ratchet handle but a deep socket better especially if the nut was rusted on.

Thanks, all good now. I cleaned up the light crud on the parts then applied grease around the shaft going into the motor as well as the shear pin. Kept it clear of the thread. Reassembled and gave myself a gold star.

I have a spare prop which noted comes with new nyloc, shear pin and washers but these were not needed.
