I know standard clear epoxy resin doesn't like UV and tends to go brown.

What happens if it's pigmented? For instance, if I was to use a compatible white pigment would it go yellowish over time? Same with a light grey or similar.

Not life or death, but I would be interested to hear from those in the know.

Ta.

I have pigmented epoxy filler cream and black to create stripes in teak veneered flooring. Not exposed them enough to tell whether it reduces UV effects.

I glassed a rudder with epoxy and covered the rudder in white pigmented sp epoxy , after two years it had gone cream on the surface so I covered it in good primer and two pack white paint, that last until I sold the boat two years ago.

I would be reluctant to use pigment if the work was structural. I have though used some pigment in epoxy when filling to give some more depth to the paint colour.
Nothing structural, just cosmetic.

Thanks for the other answers.

I know you can use West epoxy pigmented with graphite (or some such) to create a faux black caulk effect for decking - but it's white & very light pigments I'm curious about.

I've used an epoxy putty product in the cockpit called Marine-Tex in my cockpit which has stayed white & not degraded in over 15 years - but that doesn't seem to be available in the UK.

Wonder if oldsaltoz is around to comment?
