My boat is late 50s wooden motorboat ply/clinker, should I be using epoxy on the crossmember joints to strenghthen them, they are attached by bronze screws but I can see some movement, also would it be wise to epoxy the top of transom which looks rather bare and open to moisture, thank you. JD

Seems like an ideal use for epoxy. The wood must be nice and dry though. The frame joints need pure epoxy resin poured in until the wood is well doused and then a mixture of resin and filler, balloons or whatever, to fill any remaining gaps.
This was one of my sloppier repairs of a feathery deck beam, but shows the epoxy well and also the wooden pad wrapped in parcel tape backwards so the glossy surface is against the epoxy. It doesn't stick to parcel tape. I also made dams of Plumber's Mate under the joint to contain the epoxy resin. A bit of rubbing down with 80 grit coated paper on a block shaped up the joint for covering with the new deck. A rock-solid joint.
