EPIRB Servicing

I have just had my EPIRB serviced and battery changed for the first time.

I have been billed £180.38. Is this what it should cost because of some special battery or have I been ripped off?

I inherited a uniden hand held with the boat. It does not hold charge probably something I did as I dont have a manual. I went on line to check out the price of a new battery pack it was $70 that is almost the cost of a new radio or at least half so I threw it in the bin.
Replacement Battery packs are a complete rip off.

new battery for mine cost $120 in the US with a RRP of about $170.
