Last year I did my decks with Hemple Blakes Deckpaint in cream. We put on two coats with extra beads and then a top coat. Before the year was out the paint job was looking less than smart. The boat looked dirty and stained and in plaes we had almost worn off the beads.

We painted the topsides with Epifanes Nautiforte white and that seemed to keep looking better for longer and like most MAB owners, I love their varnish.

I am thinking of trying Epifanes Nonskid Deckcoating this year. Has anyone got any first hand experience of the product – will it last longer?

I used Epiphanes non-skid on an epoxy base. White & applied in early 2006. Still looks good (not perfect, but a lot of that is down to occasional overspill of varnish etc when I've done work since)

Thanks, that's excatly what I was hoping to hear :)

I used International's deck paint. No complaints about that except that i could not get the light silver grey that I used first time around when it eventually needed re-doing.

It'll see me out I guess now but if I were to do it again I'd seriously consider a textured masonry paint such as Sandtex having seen good reports about it on these forums

I've just applied Sandtex textured masonry paint. Looks the business and is pennies compared to the opposition. Unfortunately only available in 5 litre tins, so loads left over.

+1, I have used this for several years, still on the original tin. The main deck area has only been done once with the odd touch up. The cockpit floor and bridge deck which get a lot of year need doing a couple of times a year, but the job only takes about 30 mins or so.

Apart from the cheapness and effectiveness, another possibly important advantage is that it is available in a very wide range of colours should you wish to match the deck paint to other fittings e.g. spray hood/dodgers.
