Anybody know of this gloss paint, is it a better paint than the epifanes normal enamel? for a wooden boat, any tips would be appreciated, it would be going over normal epifanes enamel.

I have used Epifanes nautiforte because when I went for a pot of the mono-urethane version the right shade of white wasn't in stock. Some months after I applied it, I wanted to paint our front door and windows. Living in the town center on a busy street (hospital) this needed doing every three to four years, because most of the gloss of the Dulux-type paint had gone and the door was difficult to clean. I had the Nautiforte sitting on the shelf, so used that. It stayed easy to clean and was still looking good when we sold the house after ten years. When I passed the old house three years later, it did look reasonable, but could use a tune-up.
Drawback is the very limited colour range.

Nautiforte is a great product !

When you say better... we all have something in mind that we regard as better that may not be any use to the next user however you should find that Nautiforte has a slightly higher gloss, better flow-out and much better gloss and colour retention than their standard yacht enamel which is also a very good product.

I think Nautiforte is a siliconised enamel which helps the flow out but also the resistance to UV light from the sun.

It is still a air drying single pack product so don't expect extra toughness or scratch resistance to be much different to other single pack products.

Thanks for that, I suspected it must be good stuff, being almost twice the price! I will go with it!
Being in the meddy anything with extra UV protection is a bonus. I'll order it up!
