HELP !!!!!
I have recently been given an enterprise (upgraded from a mirror) but do not know how to rig it correctly. I have tried to search the net for diagrams but cannot find any. I know the basics (ie. mirror rig) but am confused as to what goes where especially on the mast and jib sail area
can anyone help me ?

Hi. Have sussed out where all the leads on the mast goes (Thank god) but cannot understand how you connect the boom to the transom and control it. Mine is set up with a pulley and two sliders on the transom. Where does the outrigger go and how do you control the mainsail ?
regards

Glad to hear you have made some progress. Hopefully the reply above has cleared up your confusion about attaching the mainsheet.

Don't worry about the transom sliders. Most Enterprise sailors secure the slider amidships. Because of the wide sheeting angle of the jib the slot between the jib and mainsail is very wide. Consequently you never pull the boom right in so the sliders have no use.

Make sure you get your mast rake right. You may need to experiment with a few different settings and see how well she sails.

Do you have a good kicker? As there is no ability to reef you need a strong kicker to enable you to depower the mainsail in breezy conditions.

Under the heading of DONT DO WHAT I DID: I tightened up the shrouds on my Ent' until they hummed nicely (ie as tight as I could) and then lost my mast the first time I tacked in a strong blow. The plate snapped out of the hull and the mast left the boat. Everything had been noisy and exciting, then a bang and a quite calm ensued while waiting for the rescue boat. I wish we'd had ybw in those days . . .
