Been there, done that, entering Chi single-handed (22 footer)on the scariest night of my sailing life about 15 years ago. Believe me, you have made the right decision Paul.

Hope you now feel satisfied that you took the right decision, at 17.15 on Sunday Chimet reported winds gusting 30knts from the SSE. wave height was reported as 1 metre, that was at the beacon of course which is not representative of the sea that would be running in the full flow at the bar, at a guess add another metre to that.
