The sort of thing you may want on a control panel or in an engine room come up expensive. A modest one with your 'custom wording' will cost £5 +/- due to production costs etc.
Try http://www.make-a-sign.co.uk. It has online ordering, infinite choice of colours and sizes. A fair size label with your own wording (no maximum number of letters etc) starts at 85p for stick-on or 95p with holes for screw attachment.
