50 dollars up

Took a bet for the first time in my life last week in Amsterdam...with the head of the Australian marine export group. It was a pride thing, not fiscal. He's somewhere over Europe right now on the way home, so perhaps he doesn't even know. Ah well, what a result and what a match!

Yup, absolutely fantastic but didnt they have us on the edge of our seats though. Fair play to the Aussies too. They put up a great fight and they put on a great tournament

Did you say 'lucky'? If so, you obviously don't understand the game. But then you're a Scot, aren't you, so thats understandable /forums/images/icons/smile.gif
Far from a classic game from the purists point of view, too many handling errors (blame the conditions) and too many silly mistakes (blame anything else). But top marks for tension and we got the result. And weren't the Aussies magnanimous in defeat. Better than Chirac who failed to offer England any sort of congratulations but had the cheek to claim it was a great victory for Europe!!

ps I'm spending the next three months in Oz, leaving on Wednesday. Do you think I'll live to see Christmas?
