One must assume that the engineless society are quietly sniggering at the current hyp in fuel prices....... however, when they are trying to catch a mooring bouy in a force 7/8, consistantly being nocked away! it will not be them sniggering.

Altho going engineless may be a future solution for most of us, with talk of removing red diesel - it appears that only the more financially of us will be able to continue using engines......

Any thoughts?

And how will they drive to their boats from their homes, with Land Yachts?

And grow their own food, so that they dont incur the extra transport costs to the supermarket.

Sooner or later fuel prices affect everyone.

Very true, however there is much to be said for reducing your dependance upon fuel.
One must think about how we existed before we became dependant upon fossil fuels....

Oh yes... Horse power? No not the measurement - but surely a way of transporting vessels on yard trolleys? I'm pretty sure its what my relatives (who were building vessels on the shore's of the Mersey upto and till the turn of the centuary) must have used to move the wide variety of craft which passed through them.

The first diesel engines only really came into major usage in the 1920's - with a few used in the 10's
