Engineer/Mechanic Needed Portsmouth Area

Hi,

I'm looking for recommendations for a mechanic/engineer, local to the Portsmouth area, to install a beta 20 engine in to my Newbridge Pioneer. I had hoped to do the work myself over the winter but alas work commitments continue to make this impossible & I'd really like to complete before re-launch in the spring. The boat is currently ashore in Trafalgar wharf.
I'd like to find a self-employed engineer with a good reputation who has a proven track record for complete installation of beta diesel engines.

Any recommendations?

Make sure that Trafalgar are happy for you to use an outside contractor.

Some yards don't allow it.

I had a price for supply of the engine from AD Marine last year as they are one of the recommended local supplier of Beta. I'm presently waiting for them to provide pricing for supply and install. It is great to hear that they are recommended.

Trafalgar Wharf do not have issue with external Contractors - providing they have suitable insurance. As said though - it is always worth checking.

Alan Dibley fitted a Beta 16hp for me last winter,not only were Alan & Dale very quick & efficient they also beat all other quoted prices (including a boat show discount offer). They also responded within 1.5 hrs when we had a minor problem. I would whole hearterly recommend them for any Beta installation.
