I am planing on some longer cruises this summer & would like to have a small monitor on the fly bridge

they do a wired version too, for alot less...

The wired versions seem to be cheaper ,But don't have the small monitor.

I know what it is, you've got a huge engine room staffed by nubile young things and you want to keep an eye on them (I'm sure lakesailor has some pics of them already)

Don't forget to keep the lights on!

hmm, ok they did have the tv in the package just before Xmas.. agree, cant see it on the website now, though

My idea on having the camera down in the engine room is to have an advanced warning on Burst hoses,Smoke etc
I would rather take a look at the monitor than going down to the engine room especially when single handed

On our work boat, we fitted a Raymarine camera which integrates into the Plotter - however..... as pointed out even knackered engines look the same and now we wish we had spent the money on something more useful i.e. gas struts for the engine hatches...

Great Idea and wireless is best so you can move the monitor around, but my only worry would be the temp rating of 40 deg for the camera which is a rating given for occasional peaks, not the constant heat from the engine room - check the temp of your engine room after a reasonable run, then add another 10deg to allow for summer air temp and allow 5 degs leeway for the camera - if contant temp is 35 deg or more then you will need to source a camera that has a higher temp rating - my camera is rated at 50 deg which are readily available and are a little more expensive but long term should last & perform better. Oh and if you have got the page 3 mechanics tending your engines whilst running I'll send you an address for the stills!
