We are looking for an engine to suit a UFO 34 sailing yacht preferably complete with raw water cooling and gearbox, however we are willing to look at some engines without gearboxes or have minor items missing
Agree with the above, about that being a lot of power. The more power, the heavier the engine - which would slow you, before you start bringing in the size of prop you would need to get that much power into the water - and the cosnsequent prop drag. We had 8.5 tons and 49hp. We never revved above half max rpm - even plugging into F8, so we have downsized a lot. 25hp will be cheaper than 45 too.
