Engine Raw Water Strainer Filter Size?

Hi all! I am replacing the raw water strainer that provides water for my single-cylinder Volvo Penta MD1B. The original was small and plastic and had a fine filter. I purchased a new bronze Groco, which is only available with a much coarser filter. The advantage of that seems to be a higher rate of flow, but seems like it would permit larger particles to get into the engine’s raw water pump and cooling system. I am contemplating going with a small plastic one with a finer filter, but don’t want to sacrifice flow rate. Any advice? Thanks so much in advance!

The Groco one will be fine. The perforations in the strainer are similar in size to those in the commonly-used Vetus and similar strainers.
