I need to replace / rebuild my engine panel over the winter.

The existing panel simply has a voltmeter, starter key & 3 x fault lights. There's a temp guage mounted off the panel.

If I rebuild, I can re-use everything except the temp guage. But, I'd like to add a rev counter and an alarm unit as well. Space is tight so that's why the temp guage is mounted off the panel.

Does anyone have any recommendations on where to go?

Thanks,

Dave

When I replaced my engine I opted for the 'de luxe' panel, which also had a tachometer. The new panel did not fit into the existing recess (same as what you have) but molding a new, larger, recess was no big deal. The (male) mold was a simple affair built in plywood and plaster, followed with paint and wax. Finish is not a problem as, effectively, you will cut most of it away to fit your new panel.
So, if you want to incorporate any mixture of instruments, just make a layout of them onto a rectangle - which will be your new panel - and make a recess to suit.
It really is not that difficult.
