I seem to remember a thread, possibly a few months ago, that was about engine mounts, possibly Yanmar, and one post stated that they had solved their problem with engine mounts sourced from Australia.

I have used the forum search facility and, like many others, have found it to be useless. Having asked it to search for engine mounts it in the order of relevance the first page of results was made up of posts about stern glands and P-brackets !

Does anybody remember that thread/post ? I am sure that most forumites have a better memory than me, so any help on tracking down that post would be gratefully received.
Thanks all.

Replaced the mounts on one of our 2003 VP's last year, took an old one into an automotive shop and found an early model ford engine fitted.

I was concerned the hardness or flexibility would not be right, they assured me that had supplied several sets without problems in the past.

Will have a look at the log when next on board and see what info was recorded, I do remember it was an older model ford sedan.

Avagoodweekend......

If you look at the Yanmar mounts they're an inverted vee, meaning they are taking quite a bit of lateral/shear strain from the drive train as well as compression from the weight of the engine. I would want to be sure whatever I fitted was also taking that lateral strain.

I am going down the route of looking for mounts for my VP MD22 and this is the best source so far, http://viewer.zmags.com/showmag.php?mid=hggds#/page166/ Have spoken to a few guys and they say that the only prob is that nobody knows what "shore hardeness" the VP ones are, I have spoken to the v nice and knowledgeable Lynn at VP and they dont know either. One of the dealers seems to think a shore hardness of 60 is acceptable so am going to go with that as an approximation.
EDIT, the computations at the top of the page are pretty important I was told and I have worked my "loads" out at about 90, so the HY100 or 150 should be suitable.
