I was looking at my engine mounts the other day and noticed that 1 has sheered off and two have bent back to the point that they are going to fall off.
The stud in the centre of the mount is 12mm.
The only ones i can get with 12mm studs are the same as the ones already on (Poly Flex marine) and are £64 each
Vetus do engine mounts that have the same hole centers (100mm) but the studs are 16mm. and they are only £34 each
The engine is a lombardini LDW1404 and the holes in the brackets are 13mm.
The engine weighs 140kg and is 40hp
Should i drill out the holes to take the heavy and cheaper vetus mounts or should i buy more of the same hoping that the same dosent happen again?
Would there be a reason that they only put 13mm holes in it in the first place? Is it likely i'll cause problems making them bigger?
Afterall lombardini had a fair idea of what they where doing
Or does anyone know of any good resonable priced engine mounts with 100mm hole centers on the base and 12mm stuuds?
