I recently bought a second hand 40 hp yamaha 4 stroke and have aquired a few issues.
1.
I have a badly corroded trim pump. Should i change it or wait for it to fail? Or should i buy a new one and fit it myself (is it as simple as that).
2.
I have the wrong prop. I'm hitting the rev limiter at half throttle. My boat is a 14 ft light weight center console think skiff weight unknown but it is light. I have an 11 pitch prop i cant make out the diamiter. I know that a 1" increase in pitch should decrease revs by 200 rpm but i'm on the limiter at half throttle so can't be sure of appropriate pitch. Any suggestions (best guesses would be apreciated.

You guessed it. Boat is a bit heavy at the stern. I have to run it trimed all the way in all the time. It's a bit bumpy (porpoising) heading into even a fairly light swell. Would doelfins help.
