Hi, I just bought a very cheep powerboat, just foe messing around.
It has a 75hp engine.
This is the type and modle evinrude model number 75943R

Is there a way to tell of it has an electric tilt motor/mechanism?

It sounds like you maybe bought this boat online without even seeing it in person?
How 'cheap' is cheep in this instance?
Can you maybe post a photo of the engine?
The number that you have quoted is not going to help very much.
However - one would assume that a 75 hp O/B motor should have electric start, and also electric tilt.
 
Hi, I did see the boat yes, I did google the type, make and model number and its 1979 according to model number, only paid 700 for it
Boat is self could do with a light rub down and a coat of paint, but doesnt look too bad, also I can make some mods for the cockpit and inside. Ideal job for the winter.
The throttle control doesnt have a switch or lever for engine tilt, and not sure if the engine as a tilt electric mechanism I couldnt see anything to say it has, as its an old engine im guessing not.
I had another years ago 75hp late 80`s that had a tilt control.

ok thanks, though not in pic, where the engine mount is onto the transom there is a small cylinder piston, might be for lifting and lowering the engine easier for transport.
 
Well looks like screwed rod is holding it up at the moment . First have you got it home , if not check trailer over well . Then spray all the moving parts on the engine with wd before you start trying to move the engine up and down, good luck.
 
Hi, yes there is a stud bar holding tbe engine up, it's quite easy to lift with 1 hand. I'll get a 5/8 dia bar with a coupe of rings welded on the end make securing for transport better. Yes got boat hone ok. Tow's very well. Got engine turned over and started for a second. There is a local boat matinance workshop near me, I'll grt a full service done on it. I'm also a few hundred yards from the river, and a small slipway I can give the engine a run there.

Sounds good so far , you do know it will be 2 stroke.
