engine I.D

The engine in my boat is a 30hp Thorneycroft, or is it a BMC1.5, or a Layland?????.
Been trying to gain some information just to have a read about it, and it appears that the three engines all seem the same.

Do you know?? are they all the same engine, with a different badge, or what.

Theybare all based on the same basic lump. Surprisingly they still make the thing in the guise of the Argus 1.5 Spares will be around for years to come. Bullet proof if you look after it.
